Tokyo Trip 2007 :: Day ②

Second day in Tokyo. Woke up, opened the curtains and sunlight poured in. Not a single dark cloud. WTF?? Just went through shivering last night half drenched in rain. It's like it never happened. Weird.

□ Our Hotel was at 勝どき(KachiDoki). A 10 minute walk would take us to 築地市場(Tsukiji), a famous fish market. This is the 勝どきbridge connecting 勝どきand築地. With あおくび大根(Aokubi Daikon).

□ The best Curry Udon I ever ate :: Just couldn't stop sipping the curry soup (sauce..) it's hella addictive.

□ I love Japanese packaging.

□ The buildings in 銀座(Ginza) are very unique. Can't quite notice the uniqueness when you look at them as a whole but when you narrow down to a few, you notice each individual's got something of their own.

□ A visit to Toy Park in 銀座(Ginza) :: Found a brand of toys with a rarely used black theme for Pre-School toys. The execution is better than I thought and the finishing was great. Definitely stood out of the bunch(Left). Also found a group of dildos mushroom characters which seems to be pretty popular now coz I saw them EVERYWHERE. WTF.

□ Had some waffles from Manneken Ginza :: Saw a long line so I joined out of curiosity. And yea THEY WERE DAMN GOOD.

□ Sony Building :: The one we missed on Day One. Had a series of graphical Vaio's by a few designers. Finally saw the new Organic EL panel. Impossibly thin but the base is chunky and the range is a bit small. Sorta cancels out the thinness of the panel...It's a good introduction of what's to come though.

□ Heard there's an Halloween event at 表参道(Omotesando) so we took the Metro there. Got there a bit too late seems like it was over. But we found these Dachshunds chillin in the streets. Prolly from the event?

□ Omotesando Hills :: Real brandy, brandy and brandy.

□ The New Gyre Mall :: With the newly opened MoMa Design Store. Grand opening on the 2nd of November, just a few days away. Already in our schedule but happened to pass by it so we took some photos anyways.

□ Dinner @ Shakeys Pizza :: Haven't had Shakeys in years! So I couldn't resist. They let you choose quarters and halves of different toppings so you can enjoy a whole pizza with 4 different tastes. The pasta's great too.

□ A short walk to 新宿(Shinjuku) after dinner. Just a 15 minute walk can take you there. Walked by UT on the way and picked up a few T's.

□ Took the Metro back to 勝どき(Kachidoki). Chucked down a few snacks from Lawson.

End of Day 2. Couldn't stay out too late coz the next day's another big day at 横浜!

Tokyo Trip 2007 :: Day ①

The first day. One hell of a morning. Got to the airport at 5:45am, half dead already. Knew a typhoon just hit Japan and is at peak. I didn't think it'd be so serious so I didn't bother wearing long sleeves. Big mistake.

□ Mr.Munky : Position - Camera Manager : At the airport boarding.

□ Had BK at the airport already but if they serve, I'm gonna eat. Not the worst, but still not really edible.

□ At Narita (right) :: Preparing for a long ride to the hotel. We had to switch trains in the middle and had to take a 10 minute walk to the damn station. Usually it's just across the platform but the one at 蔵前(Kuramae), they make you walk. Don't forget the typhoon. I got out and had to run my fatass to Lawson under heavy rain and wind to purchase an umbrella. The umbrella lasted a few hours and turned into metal and plastic.

□ Dinner @ Denny's :: 三元自然豚の厚切り肩ロース<240g>のオーブン焼き ロゼ色仕立て . O-M-G

□ Night stroll @ 銀座(Ginza) :: Cold Cold Cold. C O L D. That's the Sony Building btw, closed. Revisit later.

□ BTW :: The result

□ Finally :: aつくね棒(tsukune stick) treat! Man I miss these things. My first in years.

That was the first day. One hell of a day but a really good experience.

SHOCK ABSORBING GEL :: 22M (72Ft.) EGG DROP

Beta shock absorbing gel by Geltec Corporation. Saw this last month on gizmodo, suddenly thought about it and looked for it.

I thought it was fake until the dude cracked open the egg.
Wanna try this out with someone a bowling ball.
